Mother Earth
At Badlands, we have a serious attitude about the consequences of what we do, so our products are all designed to be as close to perfectly in line with nature as we can make them. All of our products are made entirely from the natural bounty of mother nature, pure botanical oils and bases. Even our soap base is derived from vegetable oils, with no animal fats added. We use a base which also contains a small amount of syndet to aid in the biodegradability, and all of our products are phosphate free. None of our products have ever used animal testing. We constantly have people urging us to "upscale" our packaging, which means do like so many others and start putting diluted creams etc. into plastic bottles made with pvc's. Our opinion on this is that it is irresponsible and of no value to the end consumer, as the expensive tubes and plastic containers are thrown away and add to waste which pollutes our planet. Our soaps are wrapped in a film which does NOT contain pvc's, and put in cellophane bags which are 100% biodegradable. Our bottled products use the thinnest and most environmentally acceptable bottles available. |
